This review was emailed to us by a JerkishBehavior fan and it passed our standards, so here is a movie review on "The Blind Side" by Dani Morrison
The Blind Side, is based on the true story of Michael Oher, offensive tackle, first round draft pick for the Baltimore Ravens. The class and character which Oher exhibits on the field and off, is made manifest in the honest portrayal by new to the silver screen, Quinton Aaron. Supported by the talented Sandra Bullock who plays Leigh Anne Tuohy, Tim McGraw from Friday Night Lights as Sean Tuohy, and the eclectic Kathy Bates as Oher’s tutor Miss Sue; viewers will enjoy every minute of the at times harrowing and eventually triumphant story.
The talented Quinton Aaron begins the movie depicting Oher’s life as a near homeless, unwanted young man moving from household to household. His natural athletic prowess eventually allows him the opportunity to play for Briarcrest Christian School in Memphis , Tennesse where Leigh Anne Tuohy (Bullock) notices him walking alone one night and invites him into her home and life. Under the nurturing guidance of their family Oher flourishes and realizes a future he may otherwise not have known. A failing student until the Tuohy’s take him, Oher earns a 2.7 g.p.a. and admission to Ole Miss where he had a stellar career and went on to continue demonstrate excellence as a member of the Baltimore Ravens.
This is a movie for everyone, and serves as an inspiration to all who maybe resting on their laurels not on that pursuit of perfection because of circumstance. I enjoyed that his story was conveyed in a believable fashion without being dark or depressing. There is humor throughout, and by its conclusion I felt a vested interest in all of the characters. Lastly, Oher is the epitome of a Jerk, an example of excellence; exclusive and elite.
