JerkishBehavior Hall Of Fame: Usain Bolt

JerkishBehavior Hall of Fame Inductee: Usain Bolt

The newest inductee into the JerkishBehavior Hall of Fame is the fastest human to ever run on the face of the earth and that’s none other than Usain Bolt. One of the most prestigious and exclusive athletic titles in the world is “Fastest Man In the Planet” which determined by whoever is the world champion in the 100 meter dash in Track & Field. This title is what makes Track & Field so exciting but not since Michael Johnson and Maurice Greene in the mid 90’s has there been an undisputed fastest man in the world while also being steroids or performance enhancing drug-free. Fast forward to the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and insert Usain Bolt where he officially put Track & Field back on the map. In 100 meter dash final. Usain Bolt made the fastest men in the world look slow by not only winning the gold medal but also by shattering the world record in the event with a blazing 9.69 seconds (previous unofficial world record was 9.77 by Justin Gaitlin in 2006 and official world record of 9.79 by Maurice Greene in 1996). That’s not even the most remarkable part which is he literally logged the last quarter length of the race celebrating and his shoes was untied, UNFUCKINBELIEVABLE!!! Usain’s performance in this race literally dropped the jaws of every spectator who watched because what he did had never been seen before (oh by the way, this was only his 5th time ever running in the 100 meter dash). Just think what he would’ve done if he ran full speed the entire way and some researchers have said would’ve been in 9.5 seconds range. Normally, you only have only legendary moment like this in your athletic career but Usain Bolt was far from done making history. Fast-forward to the 200-meter dash final where Usain Bolt won another gold medal but broke the world and Olympic record for the event with a time of 19.30 that stood for 13 years (Michael Johnson ran a 19.32 in 1996 Olympics). Usain Bolt became the first sprinter to hold the world record in both sprint events since 1971 and the first ever to break broke both world records in the same Olympics. Usain also ran a leg for the 4x100 relay race and his Jamaica team won the gold while breaking the world record in the event as well. That’s three world records broken in one Olympics folks and Usain Bolt is the crown holder of them, WOW!!! Usain Bolt would have been the star of the whole Olympics if it wasn’t for a guy by the named of Michael Phelps who is the only person to put Usain Bolt in a position of 2nd best.

Following the Olympics, the critics were wondering if Usain was just a flash in the pants because his number #1 competition, Asafa Powell from Jamaica as well, was closing in on his record by running a 9.72 seconds in the 100 meter dash. So for the last race of the 2008 season, Usain Bolt and Asafa Powell faced off which saw Bolt not only win by 0.06 over Powell but he also overcame the slowest start of all 9 competitors while having to overcome the cold conditions and a 0.9 headwind so basically he gave the competitors a head start and still beat them by a good distance. Usain Bolt’s title as the fastest man on the planet was firmly solidified. A legend never stops making history and neither was Usain Bolt. At 2009 World Championships in Berlin, Usain Bolt shattered his own unfathomable world record in both the 100 and 200-meter dash by running a 9.58 and 19.19 respectively. The .011 improvements in the breaking of his own world recorder was the largest margin of improvement in the history of the sport. Usain Bolt has accomplished things that you couldn’t dream of in your wildest dreams and makes it look easy because Olympic world records aren’t supposed to be broken the easily and repeatedly and most definitely not by the same individual but that’s the legend known as Usain Bolt. Usain Bolt said he would now turn his attention to the world records in the 400-meter dash and the long jump. So as the world’s fastest man ever and multiple world-record holder, the newest inductee into the JerkishBehavior Hall of Fame is Usain Bolt.

5 JerkishBehavior Moments

1. Usain Bolt won the gold medal and shattered the world record for the 100 meter dash in the 2008 Olympics by 0.8 seconds with a time of 9.69 while jogging the last quarter leg while celebrating and did this all with his shoes untied, who does that?
2. At the 2009 World Championships in Berlin, Usain Bolt shattered his own world-records in the 100 and 200-meter race by running the fastest times ever known to man with a 9.58 and 19.19 seconds respectively. The .011 faster times were the largest improvement ever in a world record and he accomplished this feat less than a year after his incredible Olympic performance, JERK!!!
3. Usain Bolt’s home country of Jamaica will be naming the highway after him because of his incredible Olympic world record feats.
4. At the end of the 2009 World Championships, the mayor of Berlin gave Usain Bolt a three ton 12-foot high section of the Berlin Wall saying that “Usain has shown that one can tear down walls that had been considered insurmountable”, SPEECHLESS!!!
