Mr. Shut It Down's World: My Philosophy on Shoes Pt. 1
Hello world, today I, Mr. Shut It Down, will be discussing My Philosophy on Shoes. Shoes are my biggest vice, pleasure, addiction, expense, and joy in Mr. Shut It Down's world because you can never get or have enough shoes and I am ATF:Addicted To Fresh word to DJ Clark Kent. Most people who don't have a shoe addiction or fetish think buying endless amounts of shoes is pointless but those who have the same affliction as I, know shoes are far from pointless. Shoes are the usually the first thing women look at on a man, shoes always are a conversation starter, and shoes are a guaranteed way to get compliments or even crazier reactions like where the fuck did you those? Shoes are an incredible drug.
How did my shoe affliction begin? Growing up, my parents getting me shoes from Payless was always on the only option. As I got older and saw what the cool kids (the hustlers, dope boys, rich kids, & rappers), I wanted to rock the same name brand kicks as them. My parents and big sis obliged and got me some fresh Nikes (Pippen's and Penny's) which was like Christmas. These kicks were all-purpose where they were basketball, everyday, school, church, and special occasions all-in-one because if they lost, stolen, dirty, holes, or messed up then I was S.O.L. until next year (this is why I always keep my shoes clean). I didn't receive my first pair of Holy Grails aka a pair of Jordan's til I was 17 (fyi, Jordan XIII black/white were my first) which coincidentally was probably the last pair of shoes they ever bought me. Child cruelty right? I thought so but this lesson allowed me to appreciate, value and be thankful for things that people bought me plus my fam said you need to get a job cuz no one is going to keep buying you $100 pair of shoes. Hence, why when I got my first real job I was in the shoe every week copping a new pair and my parents couldn't tell me nothing word to Kanye. So don't blame me, blame my parents for giving me free reign to cop as many pair as my lil heart desires, thanks Mom!!!
So my philosophy on shoes is cop a pair, then cop some more, and always keep them clean because dirty sneakers ain't fresh.
In part two, I will discuss the college years and beyond aka my dorm room is a shoe store, so until next time....
